Who, and what we are
. . . The Northwest Florida Press Club is intended to serve as the focus for maintaining freedom of the press in Northwest Florida.
Its primary responsibility will be to remain sensitive to any issues or groups or laws which will in any way inhibit freedom of speech or ability to report the news.
It will be particularly attentive to First Amendment rights and will take the lead in protecting and defending those rights publicly, through the media and if necessary, through the courts.
. . . composed primarily of members of the working press, either full-time or part-time. The organization seeks members from related fields.
Membership categories are:
Active - open to those actively engaged as professional working members of the news media.
Associate - This includes former working press, those employed in public relations, public affairs and military public affairs officials.
Honorary - Non-voting memberships of those deemed worthy of the distinction and approved by the Board of Directors.
